Thank you for considering the Open Books Store as a venue for your event! The following general information may help as you start your planning.

All store rental packages include:

- 2 Open Books staff members to orient you to the space, handle merchandise transactions, answer questions, and stay on site for the duration of the event

- Rearrangement of children’s section near stage to accommodate for more standing/sitting room

- Rearrangement of furniture in Fireplace Lounge

- Setup of 2 long tables and/or 1 card table for refreshments

- Setup of stage area with seating for up to 40 people

- Use of sound system

- Book discount opportunities

The maximum capacity of the Open Books store is 125 people.

Please be sure to include time for setup and cleanup within the time frame of your space rental.

Nonprofits receive a 15% discount off of store event pricing.

Children's Birthday Parties

General Details: - Store is closed to the public for the duration of the event. - This package is for alcohol-free gatherings. There is no recommended caterer. - Package includes rental of the entire Open Books store from 9 am - 12 noon on Sundays only. - $300

Social Gatherings

General Details: - Event is during regular business hours (10am - 7pm Monday through Saturday, 12noon - 6pm Sunday). - Store is open to the public with designated space for Social Gathering guests in the Fireplace Lounge and stage area. - This package is for alcohol-free gatherings. There is no recommended caterer. - $100/hour

Private Parties

General Details: - Store is closed to the public for the duration of the event. - These packages include the option to serve alcohol. Licensed and insured caterers must serve alcohol. There is no recommended caterer. During Regular Business Hours (10am - 7pm Monday - Saturday; 12noon - 6pm Sunday) - $400 booking fee + $100/hr - Maximum hours: 5. Longer parties are All Day Affairs. After Hours (any part of the event involves any time outside of regular hours) - $400 booking fee + $125/hr - Maximum hours: 5. Longer parties are All Day Affairs. All Day Affairs - $2,000 - Can include up to 10 hours, but no longer. Specific hours (10am - 7pm, 11 am - 9pm, etc.) are up to guest, but all events must end by 10pm M-Sat or 9pm Sun.

Packages include: - 1 Open Books staff member to assist with questions - Rearrangement / removal of classroom tables and chairs - Use of stereo - Wifi access - Whiteboard and markers - Basic office supplies (pens, pencils, sharpeners, post-its) Packages do not include: decorations, food or beverages, serving dishes or utensils; discount on store purchases; or copying / printing. All events serving alcohol must be catered by a licensed and insured catering company. Please be sure to include time for setup and cleanup within the time frame of your space rental. Store coupons ($3 for a book valued at $5 or less; $5 for a book valued at $10 or less) are available. The Literacy Center's maximum available hours are from 7am - 9pm on weekdays and from 9am - 9pm on weekends. Minimum rental in the Literacy Center is 2 hours on weekdays and 3 hours on weekends. Nonprofits receive a 25% discount off of Literacy Center pricing.
