Open Books Virtual Writing Workshops

For teachers looking for something different for their class, we are now offering 1-hour writing workshops for 3rd-8th grade students.

There are currently two offerings:

Option 1: “Fun with Creative Writing” which is modeled using the games and writing activities featured in our weekly Creative Writing Club

Option 2: “Poetry Workshop” which focuses on similes and metaphors and sets students up to write their own poems at the end of the session

Each workshop is designed to be engaging and interactive, and to set students up to write their own poem, short story, or creative work during their off-screen time. Following the workshop students will also be invited to submit any writing inspired by their time with Open Books to be published in a very special online publication!

Workshops are 1 hour long; are led by a trained, background-checked Open Books staff member; and can take place via Zoom or Google Meet. (Open Books has Tier 1 Vendor Status).
