Open Books is a nonprofit social venture that operates an extraordinary bookstore, provides community programs, and mobilizes passionate volunteers to promote literacy in Chicago and beyond.



How It Works

Store!
Our new literacy center and bookstore are open! We've got more than 50,000 books for all ages (plus a stellar selection of book-related merchandise) for sale in our store, and every purchase you make helps support our literacy programs across Chicago. Come visit!
