Prospective writing coaches: Join us as a volunteer!

At Open Books Publishing Academy, aspiring teen writers from across the city take part in a magical experience… that of writing and publishing their very own novel! Through genre-specific writing techniques and discussions of model texts, and with the guidance of supportive and enthusiastic coaches, students are inspired to bring their imagination to life by working through the entire publishing process, from initial draft to polished prose.  Students’ final novels are unveiled at a special gala book launch in the award-winning Open Books store! In addition to receiving their own copies of their published novels, students read excerpts in front of family and friends, sign autographs, and celebrate their success as new authors.
