Open House at Open Books!

On October 10, we are welcoming the community to our brand new West Loop location with an all-day Open House. Events will include:
10 am – Noon Family fun: Partner organizations such as The Mad Hatters will join us in our West Loop store for kid-oriented activities such as interactive readings and craft time.
1 – 3:30 pm Publishing Academy Author Launch: Student authors from our summer Publishing Academy program will read from their published works for the first time.
4 – 5:30 pm Author Event with Lookingglass Theatre: We’re partnering with Lookingglass Theatre to perform snippets from local authors Irvine Welsh (Trainspotting), Aleksandar Hemon (The Lazarus Project), Rebecca Makkai (The Hundred Year House), and Luis Alberto Urrea (The Hummingbird’s Daughter). The authors will remain for a meet and greet after the event.
