Looking for ways to get your family involved with Open Books? Wonderful! Here are a few suggestions.
Pre-readers and their families are the stars of our twice-weekly Storytime at Open Books West Loop! Join us Thursdays and Saturdays at 10am, and keep up with us in the meantime through the Storytime Parents Facebook group.
Creative Writing Field Trips
Tell your 3rd-12th graders' teachers about our Creative Writing Field Trips! And, if you have time, join the group as an adult chaperone.
Creative Writing Club
Looking for a low-pressure way to spark the aspiring author in your 4th-12th grade student? Our after-school Creative Writing Club meets every Wednesday for writing prompts, games, prizes, and more. No advance registration required.
Have a budding novelist in the family? Publishing Academy, our signature writing and publication cohort program, runs year-round starting in July.
Adult volunteers power everything we do, from working with students through helping in our stores and at special events. Corporate groups are also welcome! See our current opportunities to get started.
Have books you no longer need? We'd love to have them! Our always-open dropboxes are located around the city, or you can arrange for us to come pick up your books at a convenient location for you.

Make A Financial Gift
We depend on the extraordinary support of our community. Making a financial gift at any level helps us bring more books and programs to more students every year.
