Team Bookin' It 2021
Open Books’ annual fundraiser Team Bookin’ It will take place as part of Chicago’s Race Against Gun Violence, and will bring a team of runners, readers, and walkers together in support of literacy. This year, there are three options for participation on our team:
- RUN/WALK with Open Books and Team Bookin’ It in the Race Against Gun Violence, hosted by our partner, Strides for Peace. You can register for an 8K run, a 5K run, or a 2 mile walk. All events will be available in person or virtually, and culminate with a party at Grant Park on the evening of Thursday, September 23rd. Check out our team page here.
- READ with Team Bookin’ It at the third annual Read-a-Thon on Sunday, September 19th. Throughout that day, our team will have readers present and reading at Open Books’ West Loop Bookstore (651 W Lake St.) or reading virtually every hour that the store is open.
- VIRTUALLY FUNDRAISE and let your creativity run wild! You can still be part of the TBI team as a virtual fundraiser or donate directly to our team page.
Fundraising Minimums:
As a runner, walker, or reader, you will also be fundraising on behalf of Open Books. We ask that you set an appropriate fundraising goal for you, while also challenging yourself to raise as much as you can for literacy! That said, we are asking individuals to set a fundraising goal above a certain minimum. Please see below for information about fundraising minimums:
Associate Board Members: $300 or more for all participation levels
Non Associate Board Members: $100 or more for all participation levels
