Make The Case 2018
Make The Case
Make The Case, Chicago’s famous bookcase-decorating competition to benefit local students, is back! Presented by Open Books’s Associate Board, Make The Case is a fun-filled evening where teams go head-to-head to decorate the coolest, most creative bookcase in three hours. Spectators cheer on the teams; enjoy food, drinks, music; and submit their votes for the best case. At the end of the evening, the winning team receives fabulous prizes and bragging rights for a year.
After the event, Open Books stocks the shelves with high-quality books through our book grant program, and donates them to classrooms throughout Chicago.
For the past two years, Make The Case has been a sold-out event. Proceeds support Open Books’s mission and programs. Last year, we served over 6,100 students through our literacy programs and gave away more than 156,000 books to children, families, and under-resourced communities throughout Chicago.
