There will also be winter-themed holiday sing-a-longs with a guitar accompaniment as well as fun arts and crafts for kids to take home! On October 27 from 11 am – 12 noon, Open Books Pilsen welcomes all to a very special Halloween & Día de los Muertos Storytime! There will be live music, bi-lingual Storytime readings, book giveaways, arts & crafts, and more! Special prizes for those wearing costumes, this is open to all-ages!
Join us at Open Books West Loop for a free magical ASL Storytime, co-sponsored by CHOICES for Parents and The Chicago Hearing Society, featuring a deaf storyteller presenting with a sign language interpreter. Deaf, hard of hearing, and hearing kids (along with their parents) are all welcome!
We will be discussing Hope Larson’s graphic novel adaptation of Madeleine L’Engle’s A Wrinkle in Time. Along with the discussion, we will be looking at, touching, and examining works of art that are thematically relevant to the story. This includes exploring dimensionality through interaction with 3D printed/laser cut reproductions of museum objects. There will also be a sculpture making activity inspired by the protagonists travels through the 5th dimension.
